ELEEO MINISTRY

ELEEO Ministry is an Outreach Ministry serving Scottsdale Christian Church and the Community. ELEEO Ministry is a new ministry at SCC. Our goal is to serve those in need and also provide opportunities for us to share our time, talents and resources. We accomplish this by reaching out with a variety of special events and projects to help, not only our Church family, but our community as well. We hope by reaching out we are able to build bridges with the community in simple, practical ways to demonstrate the love of God.

ELEEO (el-eh-eh'-o) a Greek Word that means : to have mercy on , to help one afflicted or seeking aid.

Testimonies are expressions of gratitude to God.  Tell us your story.  Some will be stories of how God had comforted them after a loss or delivered them from a drug addiction.  Some stories will be complicated and others will be much simpler, like how a normal day had begun and, after a casual conversation with a friend, by evening they had given their lives to the Lord.  We want them all.  Everyone who is a Christian has a testimony, testimonies of recoveries and healings, . . . for some a story of answered prayers, or one of an instant miracle that impacted your Christian walk.  For others the road had proven long and arduous, but victorious in the end.  The reality is that we are all imperfect people with shortcomings, struggles and are all 'real people experiencing a real God' with real stories to tell.  What's yours?  In fact, you may have several, like how you first became a Christian, another about how you found SCC, then maybe something you witnessed . . . share them all . . .

Why are we doing this?  When a testimony is given it brings hope for those who listen to it or read it.  It gives hope that spiritual change can happen in their lives too.  We can use this in many ways . . . they can be used to showcase our church and show we are truly Real people experiencing a real God.  It can be used as part of our outreach into the community, a testimony from someone who God saved and healed from brokenness and destructive sin.  Or when we are counseling one another, we can use it as a tool to show where someone else went through the same things and what God can do.  So many times Blessings, salvation and faith is grown by hearing someone else's testimony.

You don't have to be a writer to do this . . . keep it simple and speak from your heart . . .

We are proud to announce that Sarah Banevich has agreed to be the Editor and contact for this project. She will also proof read and help you once you have your testimony on paper.  And, if there is enough interest, we want to have a workshop on writing testimonies.  We have some very talented writers in our church family and we have already spoken to a few of them about helping with a workshop. We will also post on our Facebook page some helpful hints for writing your testimony.

God Bless,
